James Nelson ‘Singing for his Supper’

James Nelson is perhaps best known as one third of the international crossover group –
The Celtic Tenors – recording 14 studio albums and singing with leading orchestras such as the Vancouver Symphony, Cincinnati Pops, Fujian Symphony and BBC Concert Orchestra with a full touring schedule across North America, mainland Europe, Australasia and the Far East.

In his first solo show, ‘Singing for his Supper’, you will hear his ‘up close and personal’ take on life – on the road and at home – with a selection of songs to warm the heart.

Originally from Sligo, James is a BA.,B.Mus (Hons) UCD graduate. James has performed worldwide from an oratorio repertoire of 60+ works, including “L’enfance du Christ” (with Katia Riciarelli) in Rome and Florence, “Golgotha” in Bern and Zürich, and 50+ operatic roles with Scottish Opera, Singapore Lyric, and more, plus leading roles in “Butterfly”, “Onegin”, “Katya”, “Traviata”, “Wiener Blut”, “Grand Duchess of Gerolstein” and “Figaro” to name a few.

Since 2006 James has been an active member of ‘Kenya Build’, travelling regularly to Nairobi, helping house, feed and educate orphans from the poorest regions.
