Kerry Chamber Choir

Kerry Chamber Choir’s repertoire spans 600 years and includes full-length works such as Handel’s Messiah, Haydn’s Creation and his Nelson Mass, Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, Faure’s Requiem, Vivaldi Gloria, Arvo Part’s Berliner Messe, Lauridsen’s Lux Aeterna as well as individual choral pieces.

The Choir has recorded no less than three DVDs of Handel’s Messiah – from the O’ Connell Memorial Church, Cahirciveen, Holy Cross Dominican Church, Tralee and from St. Mary’s Church, Listowel – three CDs – A Kerry Christmas I and II and Songs of Praise and has recorded and broadcast many shorter choral pieces.

Aidan O Carroll, Director: Aidan holds a First Honours BMus and MA from NUI Cork and is the founder and current director of the Kerry School of Music and Performing Arts. He founded many of the county’s leading music ensembles – Kerry Chamber Choir, Kerry Choral Union, Kerry Chamber Orchestra, Tralee CBS Boys’ Choir, Tralee and Listowel Children’s Choirs and the Kerry School of Music Senior and Junior Orchestras as well as the Light Opera Society of Tralee.

Aidan was a member of the tenth National Arts Council (1993-1998) and is active as an administrator, teacher, accompanist, choral and orchestral conductor, music theatre director, composer and concert promoter.
